Visit of the Ambassador of India to the Republic of Tatarstan (Nov. 14-15, 2016)
Ambassador of India to the Russian Federation, H.E. Mr. Pankaj Saran visited the Republic of Tatarstan along with an official and business delegation on Nov 14-15, 2016 on his first official visit to the Republic. Ambassador called on the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, H.E. Mr Rustam Minnikhanov and had very fruitful discussions on bilateral cooperation in trade investment, science technology, culture, education and tourism.
The business delegation, accompanying the Ambassador, comprised of companies working in the areas of pharmaceuticals, engineering construction, petrochemicals, agriculture etc. The Ambassador and the delegation visited Technopark in Kazan, “Innopolis” city- the future IT Capital of Russia and the Kazan Helicopter Plant.
At the Kazan Federal University, the Indian delegation discussed cooperation in education, including student faculty exchanges and explored avenues for establishing closer linkages between Indian Russian Universities. Ambassador Saran visited the Kazan State Medical University and held discussion with the Rector regarding welfare of the Indian students studying in the University. He also interacted with the Indian students studying in the University. The delegation also visited the Cultural Centre at the House of People’s Friendship.
The Government of the Republic of Tatarstan expressed keen interest in cooperating with Indian entrepreneurs, companies investors and assured their support and assistance to companies for establishing their businesses in Tatarstan.
