Opening of nominations for “Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award-2025”
Government of India is inviting nominations for the “Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award (PBSA)-2025” from eligible Indian Diaspora members. PBSA is the highest honour recognizing the contribution and achievements of Indian Diaspora and is conferred by the President of India during the Valedictory session of the Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas (PBD) Convention held biannually. The next PBD Convention is scheduled to be held in January 2025.
PBSA is awarded to a Non-Resident Indian (NRI), Person of Indian Origin (PIO) or an Organization established and run by a PIO or NRI, who has made significant contribution either overseas or in India, in one of the following fields:
For achievements abroad
(a) Better understanding of India;
(b) Support to India’s causes and concerns in a tangible way;
(c) Building closer links between India, the overseas community and their country of residence;
(d) Social and humanitarian causes India or abroad;
(e) Welfare of the local Indian community;
(f) Philanthropic and charitable work;
(g) Eminence in one’s field or outstanding work, which has enhanced India’s prestige in the country of residence; or
(h) Eminence in skills, which has enhanced India’s prestige in that country (for nonprofessional workers).
For achievements within India
(a) Philanthropic investments and charitable work in India;
(b) For contribution made towards India’s development.
There is also a system of self-nomination by Diaspora members/organizations. Such individuals/organizations, who wish to self nominate, can send their completed nomination form directly by email to pbsaward@mea.gov.in.
This information is being publicized to invite suitable nominations for PBSA-2025 among Indian Diaspora in Moscow. Dully filled in nominations forms along with enclosures can be sent by 28 February, 2024 at cons.moscow@mea.gov.in.
