Ambassador of India H.E Pankaj Saran went on an official visit to the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) from August 1-2, 2018. He met the acting governor of the Republic of Sakha H.E Aysen Nikolayev and discussed ways to increase cultural, educational and economic ties. Later, he held discussions with Ms. E.I. Mikhaylova, Rector of North East Federal University at Yakutsk. During the visit, he inaugurated the first Indian Film Festival in Yakutsk, Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
