Students of the RSUH held an exhibition of creative works "Mahatma Gandhi — Holding onto Truth"


On May 22-23, 2019 students of the 1st year of the Master's programme of the Training and Research Center «ART Design» of the RSUH Anna Andronova, Daria Bobyl, Olga Vasilyeva, Maria Gorbatyuk, Maria Karpova, Yulia Litvakova, Lukas Mendez Maria Cielo, Natalia Palachar, Elvira Suleymanova, Veronika Filimonova, Lina Shlain took part in the 8th International Conference "Mahatma Gandhi and Indian Modernity".

The conference was organized by the Center for Indian Studies of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Both events were held as a part of the commemoration of the 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi which takes place all over the globe, and were attended by indologists, specialists in the field of Indian Studies, experts on M. Gandhi, students of the RSUH, MGIMO, MSU and other universities.

The opening of the international conference and exhibition of student works began at 10:30.

A welcoming speech was made by prof. Tatyana L. Shaumyan, Director of the Center for Indian Studies of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, who, together with the Russian State Humanitarian University and the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences, noted the importance of this project dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the Great Mahatma. Tatyana L. Shaumyan congratulated the students and the RSUH administration for the posters presented at the conference, which show fragments of M. Gandhi's life and his quotes in Hindi and English.
