On July 9, 2019, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Army General Valery Gerasimov, met with the Chairman Chiefs of Staff Committee and Chief of Air Staff of the Republic of India, Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa.
During the conversation, the parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in the Military field and expressed mutual intention to further strengthen the multifaceted ties between the Armed Forces of the two countries.
The Head of the Russian General Staff noted that an important component of bilateral cooperation is regular Joint Military Exercises and discussions through the Staff Talks between Armed Forces of Russia and India.
In a series of meetings Air Chief Marshal Dhanoa also met with the Chief of the Russian Air Force Lt Gen S Dronov. During these meetings the issues of mutual cooperation in Military to Military and Military Technical Cooperation fields were discussed.
