“The Embassy of India, Moscow, Russian Federation is pleased to announce the further liberalization and expansion of the visa on arrival regime in India which now covers 161 countries including Russia.
The electronic-Visa (e-Visa), nomenclature of the existing e-Tourist Visa has been changed to e-Visa with three sub-categories, i.e., e-Tourist Visa, e-Business Visa and e-Medical Visa which can be used by prospective travelers for recreation, sight-seeing, casual visits to meet friends or relatives and attending short-term Yoga programmes, business activities and medical treatment including treatment under the Indian System of Medicines.
The window for application under the e-Visa will stand increased from the existing 30 days to 120 days. However, the applicant has to apply a minimum of 4 days in advance of the date of travel to avail the facility.
It is also our pleasure to announce that the duration of stay in India under the e-Visa facility has been increased from the existing 30 days to 60 days from the date of arrival in India.
The foreign national will be permitted a double entry as against the single entry at present under the e-Tourist Visa and e-Business Visa.
In case of e-Medical Visa, the foreign national will be permitted a triple entry as against the single entry at present granted to such individuals which is extendable by 6 months based on merit.
The e-Visa will be valid for entry through 24 designated airports ( List available on the website) and 3 sea ports (Cochin, Goa ,Mangalore) with effect from 1 April 2017 and two more sea ports (Mumbai and Chennai) will be shortly included to encourage tourists coming by cruise to these sea ports. However, they can exit from any of the authorized Immigration Check Posts in India.
