An NCC cadet delegation comprising of 02 x Officers and 25 x cadets (including 07 x girl cadets) are visiting Russian Federation from 17 to 23 Oct 2016 under the Youth Exchange Programme (YEP)-2016. During their visit, the cadets are being hosted by the First Moscow Cadet School and will be staying in their barracks along with Russian cadets.
Exchange of visits by cadets from India and Russia under the NCC Youth Exchange Programme have taken place since 2003, with earlier Indian NCC delegations being hosted by their Russian counterparts in Belgorod, Kursk, Perm, Smolensk, St. Petersburg and Volgograd. Youth exchanges like these reinforce, at the people-to-people level, the strong bonds of friendship and goodwill that have traditionally existed between India and Russia.
On 22 October, the Ambassador H. E Shri Pankaj Saran interacted with the NCC cadets during a function organised in the Indian Embassy. The Ambassador fondly recalled his own NCC days and highlighted the immense contribution being made by the NCC in Nation building by inculcating leadership values among the young generation. At the end of the function, the Ambassador presented Mementos to the cadets and wished them well in all their future endeavours.
