The current situation with the spread of coronavirus in the world will not significantly affect the schedule for the supply of Russian S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems. The Ambassador of India in Moscow Bala Venkatesh Varma announced this on April 11, reports TASS.
“There has been slight dislocation of a couple of weeks but all the major contracts will be on schedule, we don’t anticipate any problem on that,” — Bala Venkatesh Varma noted.
It should be reminded that in February, Deputy Director of Russia’s Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation Vladimir Drozhzhov said that the first batch of Russia’s S-400 systems would be delivered to India by the end of 2021 as scheduled.
It should also be recalled that in October 2018, Moscow and New Delhi signed a contract for the supply of five S-400 regimental sets. The contract has become one of the largest for the Russian state-owned company Rosoboronexport. The contract value exceeded five billion dollars.
