A delegation of Federation of Paper Traders Association met Russian pulp & paper industry businessmen in the Embassy on 23 April 2019. Over 40 paper and board traders from India representing multiple paper mills held a meeting with Russian producers and traders from pulp & paper sector.
The parties discussed possible ways for extension of cooperation between India in Russia in this industry. As was noticed by H.E. Ambassador Mr. D. B. Venkatesh Varma, Russia currently is second largest supplier of paper to India, which consumption is growing, and there still much opportunities for deepening the mutual relations. Ambassador stressed that enormous opportunities for Indian paper producers are available in Russian Far East which has reach forest resources and where many options for business development are provided by Russian authorities.
Representatives of FPTA had the opportunity to exchange contacts with Russian authorities, paper producers, and business associations. The meeting was followed by trip of FPTA to leading Russian pulp & paper enterprises in North-West Russia.
