We are pleased to inform you that the ‘World Seafood Congress 2026’ (WSC2026) is being hosted in Chennai, marking a historic first for India. Every two years, the internationally acclaimed ‘World Seafood Congress’ brings together global leaders of the seafood industry and the latest in seafood innovation and technologies under one roof. The World SeaFood Congress is organised by the International Association of Fish Inspectors (IAFI), an international NGO recognised by the United Nations, hosted by PDA Ventures Pvt Ltd, a professional conference organiser based out of Bangalore. WSC is an event that provides insights into new standards for industry and the latest advancements and addresses key issues like safe, sustainable and equitable international trade in fishery and aquaculture products.
            Countries such as the USA, Canada, UK, Iceland, Malaysia & Portugal have had the privilege of hosting this unique congress and we represented India at this global event and won the bid against many competing countries such as China.

          The theme of the World Seafood Congress 2026 is “Sustainable Solutions for Inclusive Growth – Building a safer, fair and resilient global seafood trade”. Provisional programme and more details regarding the WSC 2026 can be found on our website at www.wsc2026.com.
          The deliberations are expected to support the objective of the Government of India to increase Indian Seafood exports to Rs 1.0 lakh crore per annum. Policymakers and fish traders from major seafood-importing countries like USA, UK, Canada, Europe, Japan, Australia and China will participate in the event and deliberate on issues related to sustainable seafood supply chains. There will be area-specific (Asia/ Africa/ South America) discussions to highlight the local issues in the Seafood Supply chain. The experts from the Food and Agriculture Organization, Rome, WorldFish, Malaysia, US FDA, European Union, scientists from leading universities, R & D institutes are expected to participate in the WSC2026.           Co Organised by the Department of Fisheries - GOI, Supported by - Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Ministry of Earth Sciences, NITI Aayog, United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and our technical partner is ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research). Also supported by the Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) and Seafood Exporters Association of India.
