Swaranjali: “Music for Soul”


Swaranjali a fusion concert of Indian and Russian music was organized in “Russkaya Pesnya” Theatre on May 26, 2016 in Moscow. It was organized by Jawaharlal Nehru Cultural Centre with support from Hindustani Samaj and Darbars Restaurant.

Chargé d'affaires G. Balasubramanian inaugurated the concert and emphasized the uniqueness of bringing together different cultures and depicting oneness through music. Ms. Sati Kazanova, a popular Russian singer, is famous also in India, after her beautiful performance at “Friends of India” event in December 2015.

Sati Kazanova and Indian Maestros Gulfam Sabri (Music) and Dharmendar Gautam (Dance) performed together on the stage and mesmerized the audience with their exceptionally coordinated presentations of Indian and Russian music and dance.

This was the one of the first concerts where two cultures were united and displayed their beauty through fusion of music and dance. The concert was well attended by members of Indian community, diplomatic corps and Russian friends. Audience of over 900 energetically and warmly appreciated the performances.
