1st India-Russia Startup Summit


The 1st India-Russia Startup Summit was held at Skolkovo Foundation(SF) in Moscow led by Mr. Anjan Das, Exec. Director, Confederation of Indian Industry(CII), accompanied by 17-member Indian Startup delegation and Mr. Arkady Dvorkovich, Chairman, SF. Mr. Sergey Gorkov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development delivered the keynote address where he emphasized infrastructure (transportation), industry (new technologies), digital tech(AI, Block-Chain, Big data, etc.) are bio-technology are the new areas of cooperation. Cd'A a.i. Shri G Balasubramanian proposed the network of Technoparks, similar to Universities Network(RUN), developed and established between Indian and Russian universities.

Mr. Igor Drozdov, Chairman of Board, SF said Skolkovo has 2000 Startups few of which already had entered Indian market in space, energy efficiency. Mr. Arkady Dvorkovich, Chairman, SF informed that Skolkovo is eager to collaborate with Indian partners & noted that harmonization of regulations & standards is important for both nations. Mr. Vladimir Korovkin, Head of research in innovations, Skolkovo School of Management said Russia is stronger in terms of infrastructure, basic science, post-tertiary education, math-intensive solutions, finished software products, while India is more successful in human capital, applied science, tertiary education, ICT services, offshore software development. He proposed bridging knowledge and information gap between both sides. Mr. Oleg Teplov, CEO, Vnesheconom Bank(VEB) Innovations said that Viman Capital Fund(VCF) has been established with SREI for promoting startup in Indian & Russian companies.

The Summit ended with Business Matching between India & Russian Startup companies.
