The Russian and Indian Authorities will seek new opportunities for cooperation between the two countries, furthering it in those spheres that have not as yet been developed. The Indian Ambassador Pundi Srinivasan Raghavan made this announcement to reporters on Thursday.

Speaking prior to Russian President Vladimir Putins visit to India, the Ambassador expressed the hope that the forthcoming meeting would make it possible to take a fresh look at cooperation.

This summit will allow our leaders to find new opportunities for collaboration and to understand how to further it in those spheres in which it has not as yet been so well developed, said the Ambassador, having mentioned the successful ties of our countries in many sectors from military to cultural cooperation.

According to the Ambassador, even now the relations between the two countries can be described as active. The basis of close collaboration is the friendship and trust that have existed for many decades. Over the past few years our relations have acquired new dynamics, a new character, which have been helped by the advent of the new Government in India, said the Ambassador.
