NCC Delegation Visit to Russia 2017

An NCC cadet delegation comprising of two officers and 15 cadets (including four girl cadets) visited the Russian Federation from 25 September to 01 October 2017 under the Youth Exchange Programme - 2017. During the visit, the cadets were hosted by the Moscow Cadet Diplomatic School and stayed in the barracks along with their Russian counterparts.

Exchange of visits by cadets from India and Russia under the NCC Youth Exchange Programme has taken place since 2003, with earlier Indian NCC delegations being hosted by Russian Cadet Schools in Belgorod, Kursk, Perm, Smolensk, St Petersburg and Volgograd. Youth exchanges like these reinforce, at the people-to-people level, the strong bonds of friendship and goodwill that have traditionally existed between India and Russia for decades.

Till last year, there used to be a single exchange of cadets between India and Russia each year. However, this year onwards, two batches of cadets from India and Russia will be visiting each other annually. The first batch of two officers and ten cadets recently visited the Perm Cadet School to participate in the Summer Training Camp from 18 August to 01 September.

On 27 September, the Ambassador of India to the Russian Federation, H.E. Shri Pankaj Saran, interacted with the NCC cadets during a function organised in the Indian Embassy. The Ambassador highlighted the immense contribution being made by the NCC in Nation building by inculcating leadership values among the young generation. He also exhorted the young cadets to motivate their friends and colleagues to join the NCC. At the end of the function, the Ambassador presented Mementos to the cadets and wished them well in all their future endeavours.
