All PIO card holders are requested to note that with effect from 01st January 2018, fee of Rubles 16199/- for conversion of PIO card to OCI card shall be charged, which is same as being charged for a fresh OCI card after the implementation of revised fee structure from the same date.
It is also made clear that those travelling to India on the strength of their PIO cards (handwritten) after ICAO’s rules/guidelines (with respect to travel with machine readable travel documents) come into effect from October, 2018, will be refused entry at the Indian immigration counters and sent back.
