46th International Film Festival of India (IFFI-2015)


1.The 46th International Film Festival of India (IFFI-2015) is scheduled to be held in in Goa from 20 to 30 November, 2015. Feature films from all continents will compete for the 'Golden Peacock'best film award carrying a prize money of Rs. 4,000,000 or CAD 80,000 (approx.). Total prize money is US $ 200,000 (approx.).

2.The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) has evolved into a major forum for cinema from across the world. Started in 1952, IFFI has established itself amongst the leading film events across the globe.India produces the world's largest number of films (over 1000) every year in several languages. Indian Cinema is screened in around 100 countries.

3.The Festival will have the following sections:

(i) International Competition for Feature Films (produced between 1st September, 2014 and 31st August, 2015);

(ii) A main International Section called Non-Competition (Cinema of the World), which will consist of recent award-winning and critically acclaimed films, but produced after 1st January, 2014;

(iii) Period/Personality-based Foreign Retrospectives, Homages, Focus & Premieres;

(iv) An Indian Panorama of the best recent Indian feature and non-feature films subtitled in English; and

(v) A Film Bazaar (Film Market) being organized by National Film Development Corporation alongwith other Film Industry organizations as part of the Festival.
