Please accept my felicitations on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and the Russian Federation.

This is a historic milestone in relations between our two countries. During this period our partnership has consistently grown and strengthened in all areas in accordance with our mutual interest and to our mutual advantage. I am happy to note that wide-ranging celebrations covering all areas of our bilateral cooperation are planned to mark the seven decades of India-Russia friendship.

For India, nurturing and strengthening our Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership with Russia is a matter of highest priority. Relations between our two countries are not only in the interest of our countries, but also an important factor for stability and prosperity in the world.

Our two countries work closely in multilateral organizations like the UN, G-20, BRICS, SCO, RIC and others. India and Russia cooperate on major global issues, such as international terrorism, information security, sustainable development and to uphold the principles of international law in inter-State relations and global affairs.

I look forward to working with you to further strengthen India-Russia friendship and cooperation.
