The National Museum of the Republic of Kalmykia along with the Jawaharlal Nehru Cultural Center organized an exhibition titled «The road to the Temple. The exhibition was opened on 19 March at the Embassy of India by the Deputy Governor of Kalmykia, Mr. Bova Badmaev and the Ambassador of India to Russia, Mr. DB Veknatesh Varma, and was attended by other dignitaries from the Government of Kalmykia.

The exhibition highlighted the deep spiritual connections between Kalmykia and India, and emerged out of the exhibition on Buddhism that the Embassy of India and the Ministry of Culture of India had organized in Elista in November 2018. Besides showing rich exponents of Kalmykian Buddhist heritage, it also had a presentation by the State Choir of Kalmykia and an exhibition of traditional costumes by artists of the State Museum of Theater and Costumes.
