A large number of Indians residing in India and other parts of the world would be visiting Russian Federation from June 14 to July 15, 2018 to witness and watch the 21st FIFA World Cup, which would be played in 12 venues located in the 11 host cities of Russia.
To meet the emergent situation faced by the distressed Indian citizens visiting for the FIFA World Cup and to provide consular support and assistance for them, a Control Room would start operating in the Embassy of India, Moscow from May 14, 2018 onwards from 0930 Hrs to 1800 Hrs on all working days which will subsequently operate on 24x7 basis from June 4 onwards till the completion of the event on July 26, 2018. The Control room would operate during working hours from July 27 to July 31, 2018 following which the Control room would cease to operate. All consular assistance after July 31, 2018 would be provided only through the Consular Wing for which the Indian citizens may like to visit the Indian embassy website.
The details of the three 24x7 emergency phone lines (url link: www.indianembassy.ru/index.php/en/consular-services/fifa-2018-russia) of the Control Room are placed in the website of the Embassy of India (www. indianembassy.ru) along with the additional information like advisories for the visiting Indian citizens on the FIFA event, special train information, etc. The visiting Indian citizens to Russia are advised to properly go through the advisories and guidelines issued by the foreign missions/ Indian Embassy, FIFA and other Russian authorities like those related to travel documents, FAN ID, registration, pick pocketing etc to avoid unnecessary inconvenience during their entry, stay and exit from Russian Federation.
The Indian Embassy, Moscow also advises the visiting Indian citizens to register themselves online with the Indian Embassy, Moscow to ensure better and prompt facilitation of the assistance to the grievances and distress of the Indian nationals. The online registration has been kept simple and easy to process.
