Indian Embassy in Moscow celebrates 71st Independence Day


Independence Day of India was celebrated in the Indian Embassy Moscow with much enthusiasm and patriotic fervor. A large enthusiastic crowd gathered at the premises of the Mission on the pleasant and sunny August morning under a clear blue sky as Ambassador of India in Russia H.E. Shri Pankaj Saran unfurled the National Flag to mark the seventieth anniversary of India’s independence. After the flag-hoisting and singing of the National Anthem, Ambassador read out the President’s address to the Nation to the five hundred-strong gathering that included Indian citizens, people of Indian origin and Russian nationals. On the occasion, Ambassador greeted the Indian community in Russia and also thanked all those who participated in the function. The event included a cultural performance by the children from the Embassy of India School, Moscow and by the teacher and students of the Jawaharlal Nehru Cultural Centre.
