'ICCR Foundation Day' was celebrated at the Indian Embassy, Moscow on 22 April to commemorate the foundation of the Indian Council of Cultural Relations on 9 April 1950 by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India's first Education Minister. Ambassador welcomed the gathering and spoke about the role of ICCR in promulgating India's soft power across the globe. Several former ICCR scholars spoke about their experiences while studying in India and expressed gratitude to ICCR for the opportunity to discover a new culture and people through their scholarship program. Prospective ICCR scholars also got a chance to interact with the alumni and prepare for their journey with ICCR. The evening saw wonderful performances by famous Russian dancers and musicians who had trained in India under the ICCR program several years ago.
